The Jaycees is one of the greatest organizations for young people ages 18-40 in the world! The Junior Chamber movement began in 1920 in St. Louis when Henery Giessenbier recognized and need for an organization to teach young men leadership and business skills. Through the years the organization grew to include women and was renamed the Jaycees. The opportunity to develop skills include: time management, fiscal responsibility, teamwork, delegation, project management and goal setting. These skills are built by participating in projects for the community and state. The Jaycees are a National Organization which exists in over 100 countries. Starting at the local level the Jaycees have a president, two vice presidents, a treasurer and various other positions. North Dakota Jaycees have a president, four vice presidents, and administrative positions. Some members choose to go onto participate in project management at higher levels while others stay involved locally. Four area's of opportunity guide the Jaycees:
Jaycees provide training for officer's at the state level. Chapter dues are $60 per person per year, or a 1st time special of $90 for couples.
