The Bismarck Jaycees are hosting the Pitch, Hit & Run sectionals competition at the Solheim Elementary Baseball Field in Bismarck, ND on Sunday May 15th, 2011 at 1:00 PM.

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run provides youngsters across the country the opportunity to participate in an exciting baseball skills competition. Pitch, Hit & Run is a free national program. Boys and girls compete together in four different age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.

Please make sure to bring your birth certificate or baptismal record to registration, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE WITHOUT IT!!!

Pitch Pitch: Throwing a baseball at a designated "Strike Zone" 45 feet away.
Hit Hit: Hitting a baseball from a stationary tee, as close as possible to the "center line" (directly away from home plate across second base into center field). Final score is determined from the location the ball initially lands, minus the distance from the "center line."
Run Run: Measuring a competitors speed in a sprint from between first and second base, around third, and across home plate. Sliding is not allowed, and all bases and home must be touched (160 feet total).
No metal cleats are allowed!

This program offers boys and girls from ages 7-14 the opportunity to participate free of charge in a baseball skills competition that is supported by Major League Baseball. Pitch, Hit & Run is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the fun element of baseball competition. Participants will compete in three important aspects of baseball: pitching, hitting and running.

Youngsters may advance through four levels of competition - Local, Sectional, Team Championship and National Finals. Members of the Bismarck Jaycees will conduct the local competition.

To participate, youngsters must arrive at the competition site of the Solheim Elementary School Baseball Fields with a parent or legal guardian, and fill out a competition form. This form is available above. It is not necessary to fill out a form prior to the competition event.

Practice equipment will NOT be provided. We will provide bats for the competitors, gloves are not required, but can be brought if desired. No metal cleats are allowed! If you wish to use your own bat, it must meet Little League regulations, and also must be made available to ALL other competitors at the event.
